LIVING HERE
Nationally, Brevard County is one of the most affordable places to live and is
ranked in the top 10 areas to reside. In the Space Coast, homes are affordably
priced in the mid- to low hundreds. Throughout Brevard County there are new and
existing homes for sale with Suntree and Viera having the fastest growth in the
county.
RETIRING HERE
With Suntree and Viera posting record growth, and the building of brand new
malls, hospitals, restaurants and golf courses, the Space Coast area is the
perfect place to retire, yet stay active.
Located less than 5 minutes from the beach, Suntree affords you the
protection from hurricanes and higher insurance costs, by being slightly inland,
yet is still close enough to the Ocean to be coastal living. This is truly the
best of both worlds.
Minutes from I-95, a major artery through Florida, Suntree is conveniently
placed for weekend trips to almost anywhere in Florida and is only 1 hour from
Disney World®, handy for when family is coming to Florida.

Health First breaks ground at site of new Viera Hospital
First phase will include a Pro-Health & Fitness Center
January 10, 2006 - Surrounded by a large crowd of
Viera/Suntree residents, Health First executives officially broke ground
at the site of the new Viera Health Park.
"The residents of Viera/Suntree will soon have access to quality health
care close to home, and that is a testament to your hard work and
perseverance." Health First President and CEO Mike Means told the crowd
gathered at the site just west of I-95 at Wickham Road. "We are here today
because you sent a message about the growing healthcare needs of this
community and your voices were heard loud and clear."
Last month, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration approved
Health First's application to build a new hospital, opening the door to
get the project up and running. More than 15,000 residents, doctors,
nurses and community leaders backed the project.
The Viera Health Park will be located in the heart of Viera, one of the
fastest growing regions in Brevard County. Health First executives
detailed the first phase of the project, scheduled to be completed in
December 2007, which will feature a two-story, 75,000 square foot
Pro-Health & Fitness Center.
"Nothing is more important than ensuring our residents have convenient
and safe access to healthcare facilities," said State Representative Bob
Allen, a long-time proponent for an additional inland hospital in the
region. "This new facility will go a long way toward guarding against our
region's vulnerability, and ensuring the safety and security of our
residents during times of crisis."
The second phase of the project will include a full-service 84-bed
hospital with an emergency department, all private rooms, and a medical
office building. The hospital will utilize hurricane-hardened
construction, including underground utilities, and its inland location
will facilitate the relocation of patients during a hurricane evacuation.
Pending permit approvals, construction of Phase 2 will begin in June 2007
and doors will open in August 2009. |
With all the amenities and location that Suntree and Viera have to offer,
baby boomers will be flocking to the area over the next 10 - 15 years to snatch
up some of the last affordable yet classy property in Florida. With existing
rentals readily available, (Brevard has a 98% occupancy rate), this property
allows you to put little down, come close, if not break even with minimal risk,
and then sell down the road when the property is even more in demand.
With prices in South Florida reaching ridiculous levels, people have started
to realize that we have the same ocean in Brevard as they have in Palm Beach,
but our prices, for the moment are significantly lower.
